Fasting and Colon Detoxification
Benefits of fasting have been documented in both ancient and modern texts. In fact, a recent study of neuronal growth discovered that starvation, along with physical and mental exercise, are the three factors known to increase generation of new neurons in the hippocampus (the part of brain responsible for formation of new memories) at any age.
Fasting of various degrees is part of most of the spiritual practices throughout the world. When done correctly, it can increase physical health, emotional health, and intellectual abilities. Weight loss is not the most important (from the perspective of health) but certainly notable effect of colon cleansing.
Colon cleansing or bowel detoxification is a process that is complementary to fasting. In fact, even a short 24 hour fast will often be accompanied by a headache, when done without a concomitant colon cleansing procedure or at least a simple enema.
Enemas have also been around for millennia, and are still used even in modern conventional medicine. Various types of colon cleansing procedures are Mentioned in the ancient Egyptian texts, in Chinese medical texts, in the Gospel of Peace of Jesus Christ (a document dated to first century A.D.) and multiple other medicinal practices documented throughout human history.
I provide guidance on the use of fasting and colon cleansing, done for variety of purposes, which may include general health, many physical and emotional problems (insomnia, allergies, anxiety, asthma, fatigue, depression, memory problems, loss of attention and concentration, high blood pressure, menstrual problems, overweight, flatulence, poor appetite, abdominal distention, indigestion, colds, prostate trouble, hemorrhoids and hypoglycemia), to improve intellectual performance and for spiritual development when done along with fasting.
