What I Don’t Do

  1. I do not keep hospital privileges. As of June of 2008 I’ve decided to stop all hospital work (in-patient medicine, pediatrics and obstetrics) to be able to focus more on my outpatient practice. Therefore, if you need to be admitted to the hospital, I will not be able to take care of you there, though all records can be directed to me.
  2. I do not accept Medicare, Medicaid and many other insurances except for the major carriers listed in the Insurances and Fees section.
  3. No abortion.
  4. No euthanasia.
  5. No chronic pain management (happy to work on a gradual controlled taper, but will not do maintenance with controlled drugs, after more than 8 years of doing that I have not a trace of doubt that such an approach is unhealthy and in the long term leads to furthering of suffering, disability, physical and mental enslavement).
  6. No long term benzodiazepines (long term everyday use of medications like valium, lorazepam, clonazepam, alprazolam), happy to work on a gradual taper, no benzodiazepines of any kind for patients who are on chronic narcotics, even when managed by a different doctor.
  7. No long term dependency forming sleeping medicines (every night use of ambient, lunesta, sonata);
  8. I am hesitant in prescribing long term stimulants for children but will work on dietary, disciplinary, and mind-body medicine techniques to help families and children with inattention, hyperactivity and other emotional and mental problems.
